The Blockchain Scalability Problem -
How to Create Scalable Blockchains for Financial Services

Presentation Date & Time:
October 16, 2018 - 10:00 AM

Presenter Information:
Name: Uri Klarman
Title: Founder
Organization: bloXroute Labs

Presentation Description:
Using blockchain for financial services presents a unique and challenging problem: Scalability. Blockchain scalability is a major bottleneck to the mainstream adoption and use of blockchains as blockchains have begun to reach their capacity limits. This presentation will address the following questions:
  • What conditions need to be present to create a “scalability” problem?
  • In what capacity can blockchains be used in the financial services & payment industries?
  • How do blockchain payment solutions compare to current payment systems?
  • What can professionals do now to help prevent blockchain “scalability” problems in the future?

The blockchain community has tried to answer these questions from several angles, but each requires either protocol changes, miner approval, or compromises on centralization or security. This presentation will discuss the general concepts of solving the blockchain scalability problem and discuss how blockchains will evolve to meeting the needs of the financial services industry.
