Fintech, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence... These topics receive a lot of attention, rightfully so, however most of the projects announced by large corporations are still in a proof of concept phase. More and more publicly traded companies now discuss Blockchain on their earnings calls as well as at industry conferences. This presentation will discuss why these technologies are so frequently discussed and what "real-world" functions are being utilized and implemented.
Dr. Bora Ozkan regularly talks with and visits financial and fintech organizations to research and document the latest fintech developments in order to develop a new course curriculum for the Fox School of Business. This presentation will focus on the major findings from Dr. Ozkan's research about the practical applications of new fintech technologies within the corporate world.
Dr. Bora Ozkan Biography:
Dr. Bora Ozkan is the Assistant Professor of Instruction in Finance at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. He joined the Fox School from Tulane University, where he served as an adjunct lecturer of Economics, and Southeastern Louisiana University, where he functioned as an adjunct lecturer of Accounting and Finance, since 2013. Professionally, Dr. Ozkan worked as the director of international marketing at Alexander & Hamilton, Inc. in New Orleans, where he oversaw the international marketing and credit reports departments, while also managing international legal cases and expansion strategy. He completed his Bachelor’s degree studies in Science and Economics at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Ozkan obtained his Master’s degrees in Financial Economics and Business Administration from the University of New Orleans, where he also earned his PhD in Financial Economics on a Dean’s Scholarship.
